Nominations Sought for AALS President Elect, Executive Committee Positions

The Nominating Committee for 2025 invites suggestions of strong candidates for AALS President-Elect and for two open positions on the AALS Executive Committee.

To be eligible, a person must have a faculty appointment at an AALS member school. The Nominating Committee will formally recommend candidates for these positions to the House of Representatives at the January 2025 Annual Meeting in San Francisco. 

Please send suggestions for persons to be considered, along with supporting comments, to Linda Surles at [email protected]. To ensure full consideration, please send your recommendations no later than May 24, 2024. 

AALS President for 2024 Melanie Wilson has appointed an able, informed, and representative Nominating Committee. In addition to committee chair Erwin Chemerinsky (University of California, Berkeley School of Law), the members of the Nominating Committee for 2025 Officers and Members of the Executive Committee are:
