University of Nebraska Law joins ABA Legal Education Police Practice Consortium

Several states and jurisdictions announce online bar exam for February 2021

BLOOMBERG LAW — The District of Columbia has joined several states to announce that it will be holding its February 2021 bar exam online. Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, Pennsylvania and Tennessee also have said their February exams will be offered remotely, according to the National Conference of Bar Examiners.

California Supreme Court approves commission to study the future of the bar exam

CALIFORNIA COURTS NEWSROOM — The Supreme Court of California on Monday approved a charter for the commission that will study the future of the Bar Exam, allowing the State Bar to begin recruitment for the group in November. The commission will also consider whether the Bar Exam, or any of its parts, should be administered online and/or in-person.

New York announces February bar exam will be administered online

REUTERS — New York’s high court has announced that the state’s February 2021 bar exam will be administered online as the coronavirus pandemic drags on, making in-person testing a health risk. At least three other U.S. jurisdictions – Maryland, Pennsylvania and Connecticut – have decided the same.
