INSIDE HIGHER ED — The Education Department said that “with payments now suspended for millions of borrowers, we understand that servicers have reduced their staffing numbers. However, when repayment begins and servicers must resume their normal servicing activities, we are confident that they will return to pre-COVID staffing levels.”

UCONN TODAY — Kennedy was one of two named plaintiffs in a lawsuit on behalf of more than 3,000 veterans who were denied honorable discharges by the Army Discharge Review Board. The clinic argued that the board failed to evaluate the soldiers’ mental health conditions when deciding whether to upgrade their discharge status.

DRAKE UNIVERSITY — Drake Law School and the Iowa State Public Defender are excited to announce a new collaboration creating a Wrongful Convictions Clinic. The Wrongful Convictions Clinic at Drake Law School will begin in January 2021. The Clinic will be led by the State Public Defender’s Wrongful Convictions Division.

WESH NBC 2 — A FAMU law student has written a children’s book, “The Boy Who Went to Law School,” to motivate Black youth to attend law school. Okoye Morgan is in his third year at FAMU Law School. He says there aren’t many children’s books that personify what African Americans aspire to be.

MIAMI’S COMMUNITY NEWSPAPERS — Despite the challenges FIU Law graduates have faced during the COVID-19 pandemic, FIU once again has ranked as the top-performing Florida law school. The college’s graduates earned an 89.3 percent passing rate on the October 2020 bar exam, the highest of any Florida law school.
