UC IRVINE SCHOOL OF LAW — The University of California, Irvine School of Law (UCI Law) Civil Rights Litigation Clinic (CRLC) and Criminal Justice Clinic (CJC) will be assisting Los Angeles District Attorney-elect George Gascon is his effort to review officer-involved shootings dating back to 2012. Gascon pledged to reopen four fatal officer-involved shooting cases.

Fordham Law moot court team wins National Moot Court Competition regional finals

FORDHAM LAW NEWS — Fordham Law’s moot court team won big at the National Moot Court Competition’s Regional Finals. After mooting five rounds over Zoom, captain Frank Piacenti ’21, Kevin Sette ’21, and Cody Anthony ’21 eventually beat out the NYU Law team in the final round to win the championship and best brief.

Fordham Law students argue for compassionate release of client before federal court

FORDHAM LAW NEWS — Federal Litigation Clinic students Elizabeth Marley ’21, Kelly O’Connor ’21, and Bayron Flores Tapia ’21 argued a compassionate release motion in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. The students represented a client convicted on a drug-dealing charge who three years remaining on his sentence.
