ABC NEWS — The NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund launched a $40 million scholarship program on Monday to support a new generation of civil rights lawyers, dedicated to pursuing racial justice across the South. With that whopping gift from a single anonymous donor, the fund plans to put 50 students through law schools.

Northeastern Law celebrates the legacy of the late Rep. John Lewis on Martin Luther King Jr. Day

NEWS@NORTHEASTERN — Lewis was the focal point of the university’s annual Martin Luther King commemoration, which comes at a time of high political and racial tumult, according to several speakers on the agenda. Lewis, who died at 80 from cancer, was an advocate of nonviolence who championed racial equality in the Jim Crow South.
