Public Service Loan Forgiveness applicants get conflicting messages from Department of Education

But while millions of borrowers could qualify for loan-forgiveness programs to erase some or all of what they owe, only a fraction of those eligible take advantage of them. YAHOO FINANCE — Politicians, economists and educators have all weighed in on the challenges posed by student loan debt, but a new survey by TD Bank puts the burden into perspective, showing the average consumer spends more than 20% of their income paying back student loans.
