LOS ANGELES TIMES — California passed Assembly Bill 1076, the Criminal Records Automatic Relief Act, which will automatically seal records involving completed misdemeanor and felony sentences for eligible people after a waiting period. An automated system using algorithms would be responsible for sorting through millions of criminal records and flagging eligible ones.
