YALE DAILY NEWS — In 1990, the Americans with Disabilities Act, which extended protections against discrimination to people with disabilities, was signed into law. In its 30-year history, the ADA has facilitated strides in educational accommodations and workplace accessibility for people with disabilities, but there is still work to be done, even at Yale.

University of Alabama Law professor Fredrick Vars proposes reforms to address rise in gun suicides

WTVY — Vars explained that those at risk of suicide should have the option to voluntarily place their name on a registry, prohibiting gun stores from selling to them. A survey of 200 patients receiving psychiatric care in Alabama found that 46% of people said they would register for a do-not-sell list if it were available.

BROOKLYN LAW SCHOOL — Brooklyn Law School has announced the creation of the Ruth Bader Ginsburg Chair to honor the life and legacy of the Supreme Court Justice, who died Sept. 18. Professor Susan N. Herman, president of the American Civil Liberties Union, will be the inaugural Ruth Bader Ginsburg Professor of Law.
