Women faculty discuss teaching at UMass Law

UMASS LAW NEWS — With the most recent grant of tenure, women now make up 54% of the tenured faculty at UMass Law. Overall, 55% of UMass Law students are female, including 59% in this year’s entering class. Nationally, UMass Law is one of only 22 ABA-accredited law schools with a majority female tenured faculty.

Georgia State University Law honors racial justice innovators

THE HECHINGER REPORT — When Worcester Polytechnic Institute wanted to attract more Black,  Hispanic and female  students, it became the first nationally ranked science university to make the ACT and SAT standardized tests optional for admission. Eliminating the test requirement can increase low-income and first-generation students.

Large anonymous gift supports NAACP Legal Defense Fund scholarships for law students committed to careers in racial justice and civil rights law

ABC NEWS — The NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund launched a $40 million scholarship program on Monday to support a new generation of civil rights lawyers, dedicated to pursuing racial justice across the South. With that whopping gift from a single anonymous donor, the fund plans to put 50 students through law schools.
