UVA LAWYER — Elaine Ruth Jones ’70 was the first black woman to attend UVA Law. In her three-decade career with the NAACP Legal Defense Fund, Jones made a difference in thousands of lives in criminal and civil cases. Jones eventually became the first woman to rise to director-counsel and president.
