AALS recently updated our association management system, which includes upgrades to the online experience. Everyone with an account on aals.org now has a portal that combines a fully-customizable member profile with easy Section management, event registration, and more.

These member profiles replace the Directory of Law Teachers database. Please note: you will need to create a new password the first time you log into the new system.

Profiles

Share as much or as little information as you prefer. Having up to date information in your profile allows you to gain full access to AALS services and aals.org, and to register for events in the future. From the My Account tab, the My Profile tab customizes your contact info and title, and connect your LinkedIn and SSRN accounts. The Additional Information tab fills out your work and teaching history, degrees, and scholarly milestones.

Your profile is also your listing in the The AALS Faculty and Staff Directory (formerly the Directory of Law Teachers), accessible from the Faculty & Staff Directory tab in the member portal. The Directory is a comprehensive listing of AALS member and fee-paid law schools and their faculty, administrators, and staff. It is most commonly used to search for colleagues by name or school, and to sort by a variety of specific factors from subjects taught to years teaching.

For Deans Office Designates

As the Deans Office Designate for your school, you hold the administrative responsibility for your school’s official membership information: the roster of everyone at your school who should receive the benefits of AALS membership, general information such as mailing address that applies to everyone at your school, the enrollment statistics that are used to calculate membership dues, and more. Please ensure you are validating this data often.

Please see above for general user guides for the new AALS member portal. Below are instructions for DOD-specific tasks, accessible through the My Organization tab in the member portal at my.aals.org. Only DODs have access to the company-level profile in the My Organization tab. For questions not answered by the video or materials on this page, please contact [email protected].

Roster Management

Add and remove individuals from your school’s roster list. All faculty and staff should be included: deans, tenured and tenure-track faculty, long-term and short-term contract faculty, adjunct and part-time teachers, emeritus and retired faculty, VAPs and Fellows, other teachers, professional staff, administrators, and other non-teaching professionals.

Adding a brand new member to your roster requires creating a new record. If your school has gained a member who previously worked at a different AALS law school, you will need to complete a member transfer.
