INSIGHT INTO DIVERSITY — In 2021, documentary filmmaker Evangeline M. Mitchell released “Becoming Black Lawyers,” a short film that highlights the law school experiences of five first-generation African American attorneys. The documentary features interviews with lawyers Veronica N. Dunlap, Paula T. Edgar, Natasha M. Nurse, Marcus Sandifer, and Alexi Thomas, who recount their path to the Juris Doctor degree and the hardships of being Black law students at predominantly White institutions.
