UC Berkeley Law student Kevin Frazier launches organization to provide financial assistance for communities in need

PATCH.COM — Frazier has worked to understand the political and legal barriers to internet access through his public policy studies at the Harvard Kennedy School and now at Berkeley Law. When the pandemic hit, he saw an optimal time to turn study into practice. Frazier launched the creation of a “NOLO Zone” this past summer.

UC Irvine Law student Sarah Kahn named finalist for the PSJD Pro Bono Publico Award

UC Irvine Law Civil Rights Litigation Clinic and Criminal Justice Clinic assists Los Angeles District Attorney with review of officer-involved shootings

UC IRVINE SCHOOL OF LAW — The University of California, Irvine School of Law (UCI Law) Civil Rights Litigation Clinic (CRLC) and Criminal Justice Clinic (CJC) will be assisting Los Angeles District Attorney-elect George Gascon is his effort to review officer-involved shootings dating back to 2012. Gascon pledged to reopen four fatal officer-involved shooting cases.

Fordham Law students argue for compassionate release of client before federal court

FORDHAM LAW NEWS — Federal Litigation Clinic students Elizabeth Marley ’21, Kelly O’Connor ’21, and Bayron Flores Tapia ’21 argued a compassionate release motion in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. The students represented a client convicted on a drug-dealing charge who three years remaining on his sentence.

Operations began on June 1 with Dedman Law students, professors, local law firms, and attorneys providing pro bono assistance.
