WWII 12 — High Point University plans to celebrate its centennial in 2024 and Wednesday announced they’ll be welcoming some new schools then too. HPU announced the addition of a law school, school of optometry, school of nursing and school of entrepreneurship. That’s all in addition to the school of dentistry which was announced last year. The university still isn’t ruling out future expansion. “There are lots of schools we can start. We’re not on some crazy plan to just start schools,” HPU president Nido Qubein said. “We want our plans to have intentional congruence and we want to fill the needs of our students and families. Who knows what will come up in the future?” The university raised $100 million from three families in just the past month to make the expansion dreams into a reality. To accommodate all the growth, the university says they’ll be spending $400 million in construction projects for the new schools, a library, student housing and more.
