Christopher Wray ’92 Confirmed as FBI Director

Christopher Wray ’92 was confirmed by the U.S. Senate to be the next Director of the FBI on August 1, 2017.

Wray, a former prosecutor, was confirmed in a 92-to-5 vote to lead the agency.

Wray graduated in 1989 from Yale University and earned his law degree in 1992 from Yale Law School. He was hired as a federal prosecutor in Atlanta in 1997 and left the Justice Department in 2005 after rising to the head of the criminal division as an assistant attorney general. Prior to his appointment, Wray was a Partner at the firm King & Spalding handling special matters and investigations and securities enforcement and regulation.
