MORGANTOWN -- A new editor of West Virginia University Law School's journal has been elected.
Blair Wessels was elected by others in the school to serve as editor-in-chief of Volume 121 of the West Virginia Law Review, the legal journal for students, legislators, and lawyers, first published in 1894.
"Ever since I decided to go to law school, I knew I wanted to be on the law review," Wessels told The West Virginia Record. "It's truly an honor to be selected by my peers to be the next editor-in-chief of the West Virginia Law Review. I am humbled by this opportunity to continue the great legacy of the fourth-oldest Law Review in the country."

Wessels said her biggest goal is to "capitalize on the success of last year's symposium and, hopefully, continue to grow the symposium and attract more students and legal professionals to the law school."
She described her job as being responsible for all aspects of what is published in the law review.
"With the help of my executive board, we select, edit, and publish scholarly articles from law professors and legal professionals from around the country," Wessels said. "We also plan various events around the law school including our symposium, alumni networking events, tailgates and other social events throughout the year."
Originally from Charleston, Wessels attended Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, for her undergraduate degree in English and political science.
"While at Wake Forest, I worked a number of jobs including as a student intern for the Wake Forest University Press." Wessels said. "I decided to attend law school at the West Virginia University College of Law because I missed my home state, and I knew I wanted to move back to West Virginia and set some down roots."
