A three-month streak of job gains in the legal sector ended has ended.

The sector lost 4,300 jobs in July, according to preliminary, seasonally adjusted information from the Labor Department’s Bureau of Labor Statistics. The Am Law Daily (sub. req.) covered the findings, released on Friday.

Despite the drop, the total number of jobs in the legal services sector has increased by 600 since January, the Am Law Daily says. The total number of seasonally adjusted legal jobs in July was 1,126,400.

Revised numbers issued Friday show the legal sector had 1,128,100 jobs in May and 1,130,700 jobs in June.
