Several international students from the Doctor of Juridical Science (S.J.D.), Master of Jurisprudence (M.J.), and Master of Laws (LL.M.) programs at the IU McKinney School of Law recently visited with alumni who work at Cummins Inc.’s downtown Indianapolis headquarters. The “Shadow an Attorney Day” program was initiated by Associate Dean for Graduate Studies and International Affairs, Professor Karen Bravo.
Dinesh Castellino, LL.M. student at IU McKinney who serves as Cummins’ Deputy General Counsel-International and AGC-Engine Business, said the experiences the students shared and “the questions they asked clearly demonstrated their diverse backgrounds and perspectives.”
Fernanda Beraldi, LL.M.’15, is Director of Cummins’ Ethics and Compliance-International and Corporate Counsel. She was among the group of Cummins attorneys who met with the students. “Programs like these are extremely beneficial because they rely on the students’ openness and curiosity and expose the students to companies where the search and retention of global talent is very crucial to the legal department’s ability to deliver valued results to the business,” she said.
