Minority law teachers face special challenges in the legal academy, starting from their first day of teaching. At this workshop, participants will be able to share their experiences and concerns both with each other and with a roster of inspirational scholars and teachers. The sessions will focus on how these challenges arise in the context of scholarship, teaching, and service, as well as in the tenure process itself.
The workshop dovetails with the AALS Workshop for New Law School Teachers and provides additional opportunities for in-depth discussion. It should therefore be of great interest both to newly appointed professors of color as well as to junior professors who are navigating the tenure process.
