Judge Meagan Flynn

Oregon Gov. Kate Brown has announced her choice to fill a vacancy on the Oregon Supreme Court. Brown is appointing Meagan Flynn to serve on the state's highest court.
Flynn has served as a judge on the Oregon Court of Appeals since 2014. The governor’s office says Flynn graduated from Gonzaga University Law School in 1992 and was admitted to the Oregon Bar that same year.
She'll be the third woman currently serving on the seven-member Oregon Supreme Court. In a statement, Brown called Flynn "fair-minded and compassionate."
Flynn replaces Judge Richard Baldwin. His retirement was announced in December, with an effective date of April 1.
The governor also announced the appointment of Xiomora Torres Mattson to the Multnomah County Circuit Court.
Torres Mattson is a senior assistant attorney general at the Oregon Department of Justice. A press release from the governor's office says Torres Mattson immigrated to the United States from El Salvador as a child, and graduated from Lewis and Clark Law School in 2002.
