On Friday, February 9th, FIU Law hosted the Eleventh Judicial Circuit, Fifth Annual Professionalism and Civility Summit. For the first time during this annual summit, all four south Florida law schools (FIU, Miami, Nova Southeastern, and St. Thomas) came together – this year’s objective included identifying the opportunities and challenges faced by schools as they educate and train students to meet the profession’s expectations. The Summit served as more than just a group discussion or seminar. Rather, it functioned as an intentionally designed working group of judges, lawyers, law school faculty and administrators, and law students, organized to encourage practical, creative solutions to the problems of unprofessionalism and incivility.
