    Bennett University partners with Cornell Law School for BBA+LLB

    Synopsis

    Bennett University’s five-year BBA+LLB honours programme will have a competitive edge over similar programmes as it will proivide students with an international interface.

    NEW DELHI: Bennett University has entered into an agreement with Cornell Law School to facilitate collaborative efforts to deliver an Ivy League BBA+LLB programme in India. Cornell Law School is a part of Cornell University, an Ivy League university in Ithaca, New York.

    Bennett University’s five-year BBA+LLB honours programme will have a competitive edge over similar programmes as it will proivide students with an international interface.

    The BBA programme is being offered in association with Johnson Cornell and the LLB program is being offered in association with Cornell Law School.

    The curriculum designed by Johnson Cornell and Cornell Law School will include a visit to Cornell University for a one-week immersion programme. Students can learn from faculty at both schools.

    The tie-up will also give an impetus to startup ideas at Bennett Hatchery formed in collaboration with Babson Global of the US.

    Founded by The Times of India Group, the multi-faculty, research-led Bennett University started operations in July 2016 with the promise of making students ‘life and career ready’. The university offers programmes across engineering, management, media and law. ET is part of the Times of India group.

    VIVEKANANDAN IS FOUNDER DEAN
    Bennett University has appointed VC Vivekanandan as the founder dean for its School of Law starting June 2017.

    Vivekanandan has been the director of NALSAR Proximate Education, MHRD IP Chair and head of NC Banerjee Centre for IP Studies. He also serves as an adjunct visiting professor of Buffalo University, SUNY, New York.

    He has more than two decades of teaching and research experience in legal education and holds a PhD in IPR, and master’s degrees in the fields of corporate law and public administration.

    He started his teaching career with NLSIU Bangalore and was also the dean of the Rajiv Gandhi School of IP Law at IIT Kharagpur. His teaching and research focus are IPR, internet law, artificial intelligence and law and entertainment law.
