CLEVELAND, Ohio - Former Ohio Lt. Gov. Lee Fisher has been appointed interim dean of Cleveland State University's Cleveland-Marshall College of Law for the 2016 academic year.

Fisher will lead the school while CSU searches for a dean to replace Craig Boise, who was appointed dean of the Syracuse University College of Law.

Fisher, who will also serve as visiting professor of law, officially began working at CSU on Wednesday. His salary is $235,000 a year.

A national search for a permanent dean will commence at a later date,  CSU said.

Fisher was among the candidates earlier this year to replace Edward "Ned" Hill as dean of CSU's Levin College of Urban Affairs. Roland Anglin was appointed.

Fisher has resigned his position as president and CEO of CEOs for Cities, a global, nonprofit network of urban leaders focused on making cities more successful. He will continue as a senior advisor for the organization, which he joined in 2011.

Fisher served as the Ohio Attorney General from 1991-1995 and as lieutenant governor under Gov. Ted Strickland from 2007-2011. Previously, he spent eight years as a state senator and two years as a state representative.

He is a senior fellow with the Center for Economic Development at CSU.
