War Crimes Research Office Director Susana SáCouto Honored on Gender Justice Legacy Wall

Dec. 12, 2017

Last Thursday, War Crimes Research Office (WCRO) Director Susana SáCouto was honored as part of the Women's Initiatives for Gender Justice's unveiling of the Gender Justice Legacy Wall at an event that coincided with the 16th Annual Assembly of States Parties meeting in New York.

The Legacy Wall recognizes 151 judges, prosecutors, advocates, victims, witnesses, diplomats, academics, grassroots and international organizations, and UN personnel who, over the past 125 years, have contributed to international gender justice. The honorees have helped shape the field of international gender justice through a variety of contributions, and represent regional diversity in shared efforts toward achieving gender justice worldwide. The Legacy Wall is expected to be installed at the International Criminal Court next year, during the 20th anniversary celebrations of the Rome Statute establishing the ICC.
