Washington College of Law Recognizes Outstanding Students with 2018 Commencement Awards

The following student awards were announced as part of the 2018 Commencement ceremony. Congratulations to all the recipients.

Administrative Law Review Award (Presented to the best student work published in the Administrative Law Review): Jonathan Wright

Edward C. Bou Award (Presented to the foreign-born JD graduate and the foreign-born LL.M. graduate who have attained the highest scholastic averages): Chiara Vitiello, JD, and Achalie Kumarage, LL.M.

Business Law Review Award (Presented for the best student work published in the Business Law Review):  Conor Arpey

Clinical Legal Education Association's Student of the Year Award (Presented to the student who has excelled in a clinical course): Meg Alexander

Clair A. Cripe Award (Presented to the graduating student who has been outstanding in correctional law): Hannah Nallo

Dean’s Award for Professional Responsibility (Awarded to the graduating student who has participated under the third-year practice rule in the clinical programs in Maryland, Virginia, or the District of Columbia, and who has exemplified proficiency in the skills and high ethical standards of the profession): Victoria Latus

Gillett Prize (Awarded to the student in the graduating class with the highest scholastic average): Benjamin Cook

The Human Rights Brief Award (Presented for the best student work published in the Human Rights Brief): Hannah Nallo

International Law Review Award (Presented for the best student work published in the International Law Review): Tarja Cajudo

Journal of Gender, Social Policy & the Law Award (Presented for the best student work published in the Journal of Gender, Social Policy & the Law): Alice Mutter

Mooers Trophy (Awarded to the outstanding student in Trial Advocacy): Ashley Probst, Paige Resnick

Mussey Prize (Presented to the students who have attained the highest scholastic average during the last year of study in both the full-time and part-time divisions):

Full-time division: Joseph Briscar, Laura Collins, Jordan Helton, Wendy Acquazzino, Karina Wegman, Joshua Couce, Priyanka Cohen, and Katherine Holcombe.

Part-time division: Stephanie West, James Chou, Carlos Clemente, and John Haigh.

Outstanding Graduate Award (Presented to the JD and LL.M. graduates selected by the faculty):

Award for an LL.M. in International Legal Studies: Mirta Moragas

Award for an LL.M. in Law & Government: Joseph McCarthy

Outstanding Research and Writing Award (Presented to an LL.M. graduate in International Legal Studies and an LL.M. graduate in Law and Government who have demonstrated outstanding ability in research and writing):

Thomas O. Sargentich Award (Presented to the LL.M. graduate in Law and Government who has attained the highest scholastic average during his or her study at Washington College of Law): Joseph McCarthy

Solf Award (Presented to the LL.M. graduate in International Legal Studies who has attained the highest scholastic average during his or her study at Washington College of Law): Achalie Kumarage

Professor Andrew E. Taslitz Award (Presented to the graduating student who has been outstanding in criminal justice): Jacqueline Williams

Lura E. Turley Prize (Awarded for the best student work published in the Law Review): Jordan Helton

Washington College of Law Alumni Award (Presented to the graduating student who substantially contributed to student activities and to the progress of the law school): Kristopher Vicencio, Allen Liu
