The Association of American Law Schools (AALS), a 501(c)(3) higher education association, represents 178 American law schools and is located in Washington, DC. AALS seeks an undergraduate or graduate student to work approximately 20–25 hours per week to support the association’s communications, development and outreach efforts and office administration at our Dupont Circle headquarters office. The ideal candidate will be detailed oriented, self-motivated, reliable, and willing to roll up his/her sleeves to help with any project or task assigned.
Desirable skills are strong writing ability, computer skills, familiarity with Microsoft Office, general web skills, and knowledge of traditional and social media. Commitment to meeting deadlines is essential.
Tasks include: researching and summarizing news stories about legal education; contacting law schools for various communications projects; data entry; assisting with social media content; online research for communications projects; writing and formatting content for the association’s website; handling mailings to contributors; updating records in database; and assisting with PowerPoint and written presentations.
