- Awarded degree is Masters of Laws Degree – LL.M. (“juris kandidatexamen”)
- The usual period of study is 4,5 years.
- The University does not have a clinical program.
- The admission requirements are: -complete upper secondary school education or other equivalent education that entitles to university studies in the home country. -documented good knowledge of English (the equivalent of “Engelska kurs A”). -documented good knowledge of Swedish
- The special requirements are: -upper secondary school courses in Swedish, Social studies and History.
- The number of admitted students is about 300 each year.
- The number of graduate students is about 250 each year.
- The University does not charges tuition fees to students.
- The number of full-time faculty – 30 lecturers and 16 professors
- The number of part-time faculty – There is a large number of temporary faculty and a few part-time lecturers.
- The University has a separate law library.
- The library has 20 computer terminals.
Process from Law School to practice:
A student is able to practice law on obtaining his or her degree. In order to obtain the title of “advocate”, the student must work for ca. five tears in an advocate office. Around 50% of students (the number vary strongly from year to year) clerk for a judge for 1-2 years before beginning work at an advocate’s office, or the courts, a prosecutor’s office or as company lawyers.
