Process from Law School to practice:

Institut de Droit Compare de Paris is only an Institute of Paris – II University, and it’s degrees is only complements to the main law school courses. As a consequence, there is no process to reach practice after it’s degrees. One must follow the ordinary main courses (maitrise, the equivalent of graduation), and then a practical school. An exception to this is DEA, which, as every postgraduate degree can lead to the said practical school.

The path is following:

Maitrise en droit (4 year study) or DEA (5 year study);

Than School of the Bar (2 year-study); than advocate.

Process from Law School to practice:

The French system works as follows: After four years of undergraduate studies with a major in law, students take an exam in order to be admitted to a school for one year of specialized studies and training. If the student goes through this year and passes the final test, hw/she becomes a fully licensed member of the Bar.
