- Awarded degrees are: Bachelor of Laws – 3 years,Master of Laws – 5,5 years (includes the Bachelor degree)Licentiate of Laws – 1,5 years, and Doctor of Laws – 4 years.
- The University does not have clinical program.
- The requirements for admission are high school diploma and entrance examination. Students are selected in entrance examination for the studies of Bachelor’s/ Master’s degree. There is no separate entrance exam for the Bachelor’s degree. A person will be selected to the Master’s program and he/she may take the Bachelor’s degree but usually does not.
- The number of admitted students is 210-250 for Bachelor’s/ Master’s degree each year. The number of graduate students is 313 (including LL.B., LL.M., LL.Lic., LL.D.) each year.
- The University does not charge tuition fees to students.
- The number or full-time faculty –37 professors, 31 lectures, assistants
- The number of part-time faculty – numerous (20-30) part-time lectures, course assistant
- The University has a separate law library with 90.000 volumes.
- Library provides 22 computer terminals for students.
Process from Law School to practice:
Anyone applying for membership in the Bar Association must have completed a Master of Laws degree (LL.M.), entitling him to hold judicial office, and he must be known to be a person of integrity. Furthermore, he must have several years experience in the legal profession and other judicial duties. He must also pass a special examination covering the basic elements of the legal profession and professional ethics.

- Awarded degrees are: LL.B (Bachelor’s degree) – 3 years; LL.M (Master’s degree) – 2 years; Licentiante orf Laws – 2 years; Doctor of Laws – 2years; The University has clinical program.
- The Requirements for admissions are: the admission exam, which is held once a year, written exam. Written material is decided separately every year. Before taking an entrance examination, a student must have passed high school level studies. Entrance examination is in Finnish only. If a person has a master’s degree in Law, he/she is able to apply to postgraduate studies (licentiate and doctor’s degree) without a good command of Finnish.
- The number of admitted students is approximately 100-127 each year.
- The number of graduate students is approximately 110 each year.
- The University does not charge tuition fees to students.
- The number of full-time faculty – 40 and 7 administrative staff
- The number of part-time faculty – approximately 30 visiting teachers
- The University does not have a separate law library.
- The University library has 30 000 law related volumes.
- Library provides 15 computer terminals for students. Also there is 2 separate computer rooms with 15 terminals.
Process from Law School to practice:
At least 25 years old and citizen of Finland or other EEC country. Has to graduate in LL.M degree in Finland. A law graduate has to have at least 4 years experience in legal profession, of which at least 2 years experience in advocate’s profession. Also a law graduate has to pass a special examination.
