Process from Law School to practice:
A full advocate a member of the Bar may be accepted, who has passed the special exam and performed in law office a practice a) of two years as a advocate’s assistant, or b) of one year as a senior assistant (plus an age census of 24). However, both the assistants and senior assistants of advocate are considered members of the Bar (advokat). A senior assistant is an advocate who has passed the senior assistant’s exam and performed a practice of one year as an assistant. An advocate’s assistant is a lawyer who has passed the assistant’s exam. Thus there are three exams, composed of a written (case study) and oral (casual theoretical questions) part. The assistant’s exam contains also an essay and an interview. There are some other possibilities too: a practice before the exam of senior assistant may be replaced by a practice in a Law School of a University; a practice before the exam of full advocate may be replaced by a doctor’s degree in law. There seems to be no possibilities to perform the practice in court; as members of the Bar, the advocates of all the levels have the right to represent principals in court, except the reservation for full advocates in the National court.
No master degree is needed. Bachelor degree of a Law School of a academic University is sufficient.
