Process from Law school to practice:
9 months clerkship at the court;
5 years of practice at a law firm, 4,5 years if the student received a Doctor Iuris (comparable to PhD)

Process from Law School to practice
Law graduates have to submit to a five-year training period. This includes a minimum of nine months clerkship at the courts and three years in an Austrian law firm. The remaining 15 months may be served in a notary’s office, in the Solicitor General’s Office or, if such employment seems useful towards a future activity, the time may be spent in an administrative authority in a law school etc. It is necessary having stood examinations (written/orally) at the end of the training.

Process from Law School to practice
Law School graduates need five years of practice (at least 3 years at a law firm) and further exams.
