Articles in the AALS Newsletter by the Committee on the Recruitment and Retention of Minority Law Teachers
The Committee on the Recruitment and Retention of Minority Law Teachers authored a series of three articles for the AALS Newsletter in 1996. The essays were written to "further the goal of meaningful racial integration of law school faculties."
The first article was about racial integration in legal education. The second article recommended techniques for successfully recruiting a diverse faculty. The third article discussed techniques for retaining a diverse faculty. A related article (referenced in the "Racial Integration" article) is also available here. It is about the variations in the success rates of minority and nonminoirity candidates in the AALS Faculty Appointments Register.
