The ride can take anywhere from approximately 45 minutes to 1½ hours, as the van may stop several times to meet the needs of other passengers. Car Rental: The Hilton Tucson El Conquistador is located approximately 10 miles from downtown Tucson, 23 miles from the Tucson International Airport, and 110 miles from the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. While private airport shuttle service and taxis are available between the conference hotel and the Tucson airport, there is no public transportation at the hotel. Therefore, in order to fully experience the area’s many wonderful restaurants and tourist attractions, such as the Arizona Sonoran Desert Museum, Sabino Canyon and the Mission at San Javier, conference participants may want to car pool and/or rent cars at the airport to maximize their experience in the Southwest. Hertz is offering car rental discounts to attendees of the AALS Conference on Clinical Legal Education in Tucson. For reservations, call Hertz at (800) 654-2240 (U.S. and Canada, including Toronto) or outside these areas (405) 749-4434. Refer to CV#03UF0002. You may also contact your travel agent or book online at hertz.com. At the time of the reservation, the meeting rates will be automatically compared to other Hertz rates and you will be quoted the best comparable rate available. In the event you do not pick up the car at the airport, there is a Hertz office located at 3720 West Ina Road, approximately 8 miles from the hotel. Rates are available from all Phoenix and Tucson Hertz locations from April 27 through May 14, 2008.
Traveling to Mexico
Tucson is a little more than an hour driving time from Nogales, Arizona, which borders Nogales, Sonora, Mexico. Driving from the conference hotel should take an additional 15 to 20 minutes. Going to Nogales, Mexico, can be an enjoyable (and eye-opening) day trip. But before traveling across the border, you must know the requirements for crossing into and out of Mexico. In 2008, the rules concerning required documentation for travel between the United States and Mexico will be changing. Adults and children may need passports to cross the border. In addition, special restrictions apply for children under the age of 18 who are not traveling with their parent or guardian to or from Mexico. Visit http://www.travel.state.gov for specific U.S. Department of State information and http://cbp.gov for U.S. Customs and Border information.
Internet Access
Internet access is available in the guest rooms of the hotel. A wireless connection costs $9.95+tax for a 24-hour period. A wired connection costs $14.95 + tax for a 24-hour period from 12:00 noon to the following day at 12:00 p.m. The hotel’s Business Center in the hotel (open 7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and by request on Saturday and Sunday) has four computer terminals. Internet access is $8.75 per ¼ hour.
