Subject: Nominations for 2000 AALS President-Elect and Members of the AALS Executive Committee

 

The Committee on Nominations for 2000 AALS officers and Executive Committee members, chaired by N. William Hines, University of Iowa, invites suggestions for candidates for President-Elect of the Association and for two positions on the Executive Committee. The Committee will meet in September to recommend candidates for these positions to the House of Representatives at the January 2000 Annual Meeting in Washington, DC. Suggestions of persons to be considered and relevant comments should be sent to me at 1201 Connecticut Avenue, N.W., Suite 800, Washington, D.C. 20036-2605. President Gregory Williams has appointed an able, informed, and representative Nominating Committee. This committee would very much appreciate your help and the help of members of your faculty in generating names for its consideration.

The other members of the Committee on Nominations are : Eleanor M. Fox, New York University; Richard A. Matasar, University of Florida; Burnele Venable Powell, University of Missouri–Kansas City; Geoffrey R. Stone, University of Chicago; Kathleen M. Sullivan, Stanford Law School; and Gerald Torres, The University of Texas.
