SUBJECT:       Revision of Solomon Amendment

 

 

            As you may know, President Clinton has signed into law a revision of the Solomon Amendment that exempts student aid funds from the coverage of the Amendment.  The AALS is very pleased with this action.  We are currently reviewing the details of the revision so we can provide as much information as possible to member schools.  The Executive Committee will soon be reviewing the scope of the exemption, and what implications it has for AALS policy.  I expect to be able to report more to you shortly after either the November or January meeting of the Executive Committee.
