SUBJECT:       AALS Section Membership for Law School Professional Staff and

Law Teachers not in AALS Directory of Law Teachers

 

            As you know, full time faculty have the opportunity to sign up for section memberships when they complete their biographical form for the AALS Directory of Law Teachers.  We are aware that some law school professional staff and part time, temporary or adjunct faculty (e.g. directors of institutional advancement, deans of student services, and libraries) do not have the opportunity to sign up for AALS section memberships since they are not included in the AALS Directory’s biographical section.  We would appreciate your distributing the attached form to offer section memberships to these individuals.  There is no charge for membership in sections unless the section charges dues.  Only the Clinical Section does require dues for membership.  Becoming a section member assures inclusion on the section mailing lists for newsletters and other mailings.  The membership in a section is from July 1, 1999 through June 30, 2000 except for the Section on Clinical Legal Education membership, which is from January 1, 1999 through December 31, 1999.
