Subject: AALS Workshop for Deans on Managing Change and Conflict

 

The program for the Workshop for Deans on Managing Change and Conflict, to be held March 19–21 in Palm Springs, California, is attached. Because of the press of Annual Meeting business, the formal brochure for this program will not reach your desk for about ten days. We have been receiving a number of calls asking about registration. Registration and hotel reservation forms are attached.

This workshop is designed for deans and associate deans for both academic affairs and student affairs; it will focus on broad issues and emphasize proactive strategies for dealing with conflict.

The workshop hotel is the Palm Springs Marquis in Palm Springs, California. The hotel features championship tennis courts, a state of the art fitness center, two outdoor heated swimming pools and discounted rates at multiple golf courses (call Concierge ASAP for tee reservations). The room rate is $155.00 for a single or double room, plus tax. Since the cutoff date for room reservations is February 26, 1998, we urge you to make your hotel reservation by calling (760) 322-2121 or faxing a completed hotel reservation form to the hotel at (760)778-1263.

For AALS Registration Forms and checks received in the AALS Office by March 5, 1998, the Early Bird registration fee is $450; for those forms received after March 5, the regular registration fee is $500.
