As you probably know, the AALS Deputy Director serves a term of two years. Professor Bari Burke, University of Montana, concludes two years of excellent service at the end of July.
I am pleased to announce that Professor H.G. Prince, University of California, Hastings has agreed to serve as Deputy Director effective January 1999. Because of scholarly commitments related primarily to his co-authorship of a contracts case book, he will not be able to begin until January. Although Bari Burke is unfortunately unable to remain for an additional semester, I am very pleased that Associate Dean Barbara Cox, California Western School of Law, has agreed to serve as Interim Deputy Director.
The Association continues to be fortunate in the quality of people who serve in the Deputy Director’s position.
