We are mailing the following brochure to you so that you may bring these Workshops to the attention of your newly hired law teachers. Enclosed is the brochure for the 23rd AALS Workshop for New Law Teachers to be held on June 23-25, 2005 and the 2nd Workshop for Beginning Legal Writing Teachers to be held on June 25-26, 2005 in Washington, D.C. at the Westin Grand Hotel.
The main Workshop for New Law Teachers is designed to offer new law teachers ideas about teaching techniques, scholarly development and to enable them to share excitement, experiences and concerns about entering the academic world. The workshop provides an opportunity to discuss the expectations that students and colleagues may have about new teachers, and the most effective means for achieving professional success in the first few years of teaching. It will focus on issues of teaching and scholarship as well as institutional and individual concerns of new law teachers.
The day-long Workshop for Beginning Legal Writing Teachers will feature experienced teachers of legal writing and research who will discuss course objectives and teaching techniques, among other topics. This workshop is designed for anyone who is involved in full-time teaching in any type of legal writing and research program.
