MEMORANDUM 03-43

Attached is a copy of the revised Bylaws that will be presented for adoption at the January 3, 2004 session of the House of Representatives during the 2004 Annual Meeting in Atlanta. These revised Bylaws were originally distributed in 2002 as three separate documents and were discussed at the House of Representatives session of the 2003 Annual Meeting. At that time it was requested that the three documents be combined and sent out as one document, with old language struck out and new language highlighted. At the 2003 House of Representatives session, Dean Mary Kay Kane, Chair of the Project, asked for written comments. Several comments were received over the year and were considered by the Executive Committee.

As you will recall from last year, this project was only concerned with clarifying Bylaws and Executive Committee Regulation sections and relating them to the core values of the Association of American Law Schools, and was not intended to make substantive changes. The document you have here is the same as the one distributed a year ago, but in a different format.
