MEMORANDUM 03-32
August 26, 2003
| To: | Deans of Member and Fee-Paid Schools | |
| From: | Joyce Saltalamachia, Deputy Director | |
| Subject: | "Hot Topics" 2004 - Annual Meeting |
The Executive Committee has reserved a time in the 2004 Annual Meeting schedule for a program devoted to a late-breaking legal issue or topic. Faculty members who are interested in organizing a panel on such an issue or topic will have the opportunity to submit proposals until Friday, November 28, 2003. The purpose of this special "hot topics" slot is to provide a forum for a panel presentation on a timely and important issue of general interest that may arise after the deadline for section and other programs. The Executive Committee has decided to experiment with this "hot topics" slot for two years to enable it to determine if the practice should be continued.
Proposals will be evaluated by the Immediate Past President of the AALS in consultation with the Executive Committee. If no program proposals are chosen for any particular year, the reserved slot will not otherwise be filled.
Please inform your faculty of this opportunity. Proposals may be sent to the Executive Director of the Association of American Law Schools, 1201 Connecticut Ave. N.W., Washington, D.C. 20036-2605.
