Enclosed is a letter from the Honorable Dennis Jacobs, Chair of the Judicial Resources Committee of the United States Judicial Conference, regarding implementation of the "Edwards and Becker Plan" for interviewing and hiring of law clerks. As you know, the AALS is committed to assisting the judges in any way feasible to assure the success of this plan. I hope you will seriously consider the comments of Judge Jacobs, and take him up on his request that you submit ideas to him regarding the most effective way to implement the plan.
