| Subject: | Supplying User Name and Passwords to Your Faculty for Accessing AALS On-Line Services |
Please find enclosed in this Federal Express package an envelope addressed to each of your faculty and professional staff members listed in the AALS Directory providing them with their personal user name and password for accessing AALS online services. The first online service that we are offering is online registration for the AALS Annual Meeting. For those who have not yet registered, this is an easy way to register and receive an immediate acknowledgement of receipt of registration. A second e-mail will confirm credit card payment and notify the registrant that he or she is now registered. We would appreciate your distributing these addressed envelopes.
You will have faculty and professional staff who do not have an envelope addressed to them. This is because they are not listed in the AALS Directory. They can still use the online registration system and receive the member rate registration fee by creating an account online and using the “Setup your online account now” on the website. The website will first ask for their name to see if they are already in the AALS database. If they are in the database, they will be given a user name and be e-mailed a password. Once they receive their password, they can register online. (If we do not have an e-mail address in our system for them, they will need to call us for a user name and password). If their name is not recognized after the name search, they will be given the option to add their name to the AALS database. At that time, the online system will ask them to enter their school name and verify that their school is already in our database. (All member and fee paid schools are in the AALS database). They will be able to create their own user name and password, proceed with online registration and receive the member registration fee rate.
