Airport Transportation

Taxi fare to the hotels is between $38 – $50 plus tolls and tip. Shared ride van service is available through AirlinkNYC for a fee of $15 per person (multiple bags may be an extra charge). Because it makes multiple stops, the shared ride may take as long as several hours, though in most cases it does not. Coach USA offers a bus service (the Grey Line) for $14 from Newark Liberty International Airport to the Port Authority Bus Terminal (Note: Bus tickets must be purchased from Coach USA supervisors, not the drivers themselves). To get to the hotels from the Port Authority, take the subway’s Line E towards Jamaica Center to 7th Avenue and 53rd Street for an additional $2. For tickets and schedules, visit http://www.coachusa.com/info/olympia/ss.toolkit.wheretobuy.asp.

Public transit from LaGuardia is not recommended late at night or for people unfamiliar with the city.

City Transportation
New York City’s public transit system is one of the most extensive in the world. The subway operates 24 hours a day, although some stations are closed between midnight and 6 AM, and the gap between trains can be as long as 30 minutes during off-peak hours. Subway maps are available from station managers or at http://www.mta.info/nyct/maps/submap.htm. During off-peak hours, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority recommends that passengers travel in the car with the conductor, usually the middle car of the train. www.subwaynavigator.com is an excellent resource for determining the fastest subway route. The subway cost is $2 per ride, $7 for a one-day pass, or $21 for a seven-day MetroCard.

Parking
The Hilton New York garage is located on 53rd Street between 6th and 7th Avenues. Valet parking is available for $42 per 24 hours ($52 for vans and SUVs). The garage is open 24 hours a day.

The Sheraton New York Hotel & Towers offers valet parking in a hotel-attached garage for $34 plus tax (subject to change). The garage is open 24 hours a day.

The New York Marriott Marquis has valet parking for $75 per day. Parking rates are $50/car, $60/SUV, $75/oversize vehicle. There is a $10 service fee for in/out access.
