Airline Discounts
AALS has secured special discount agreements with both United Airlines and US Airways. Reservations can be made by you or your professional travel consultant.

United Airlines offers a 10% off the unrestricted mid-week coach fare or 5% discount off the lowest applicable fare, to all AALS attendees. An additional 5% discount will apply when tickets are purchased at least 30 days in advance of departure. Discounts apply on domestic segments of all United Airlines, United Express and United code share flights (UA*) operated by US Airways, US Airways Express and Air Canada. Call United’s Meeting Desk toll free at 1-(800) 521-4041 and refer to the Meeting ID Number 598BS (seven days a week, 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. EST.) Mileage Plus members receive full credit for all miles flown to this meeting.

US Airways offers 5% off Envoy Class and any published promotional round trip fare. A 10% discount off unrestricted coach fares will apply with seven-day advance reservations and ticketing required. Plan ahead and receive an additional 5% discount when ticketing 60 days in advance of departure. US Airways will also offer exclusive negotiated rates for those unable to meet restrictions of promotional round trip fares (continental US travel only). Airport Transportation
San Francisco International Airport
Taxi fare from San Francisco Airport is approximately $41; travel time is 30 minutes. Taxis are metered.

SFO Airporter operates buses to the Hilton San Francisco (fifth stop); buses depart every 30 minutes from the lower level, center traffic island, look for blue posts marked “Scheduled Buses”, from 5:35 a.m. to 9:05 p.m., seven days a week. The fare is $14.00. Buses depart from the Hilton every 30 minutes from 4:50 a.m. through 10:20 p.m. No reservations necessary; payment is by cash only. Tickets may be purchased on the SFO Airporter bus or at the Mason StrSeet entrance of the Hilton,
7:00 a.m. –3:00 p.p.

Oakland International Airport
Taxi fare is approximately $60; travel time is approximately 45 minutes. Taxis are metered.

Super Shuttle operates van service with stops at San Francisco hotels on a pre-arranged reservation basis only. Call (415) 558-8500 or reserve online at www.supershuttle.com, 24 hours in advance; credit cards are accepted. Upon arrival at the hotel, call 800-BLUE VAN (258-3826), press option 1 and provide your reservation number. A van will be dispatched for pick up at the Door to Door zone. There can be 30-45 minute waits for shuttles between the hours of 1-5 am. The fare is $25 each way.

City Transportation
BART is the subway system which services the city and east bay (Oakland, Berkeley) from approximately 4:00 a.m. (M-F) and 6:00 a.m. (S-S) to midnight; fares are from $1.20-4.95. The closest stop to the Hilton is the Powell Station at Powell and Market Streets (four blocks away). Go to Web site www.transitinfo.org for more information on schedules and fares.

Municipal Railway (Muni) operates buses, light rail and cable car vehicles around the city. Fares are $1.25 except on cable cars where the fare is $3. Car Rental Discounts
Hertz Corporation is offering AALS registrants, daily, weekly and weekend special meeting rates for this meeting. Weekend rentals offer the lowest rental rates and are available for pick up between noon Thursday and noon Sunday and must be returned no later than Monday at 11:59 p.m. Thursday pick-up requires a minimum three-day keep, Friday pick-up requires a minimum two-day keep, and Saturday and Sunday pick-up requires a minimum one-day keep.
