Code: [1402] Price $65) </p> <p> This field trip will go by bus to the headquarters of the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, whose new and ecologically friendly facilities are on the waterfront in Annapolis, MD. Two symposium sessions will be held there. </p> <p> In the morning, Dr. Emery Cleaves, Director, Maryland Geological Survey, and his staff, will discuss shoreline and island erosion, wetlands, dredging, as well as the creation of set-back regulations around the Bay. </p> <p> After lunch at the Foundation, the afternoon session will discuss wildlife and fisheries problems around the Bay, including management of the blue crab, oyster, and fish populations. The afternoon session will be led by William Goldsboro, Senior Scientist, Chesapeake Bay Foundation, and his staff, as well as staff from the Maryland Department of Natural Resources and watermen's associations. </p> <p> <b>7:30 a.m. -12:30 p.m.<br> Section on International Human Rights Field Trip</b><br> Topic: The Law of the Holocaust: A Lecture and Tour of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum (Ticket purchase in advance of Annual Meeting is necessary. Code: 5225) </p> <p> The Section on Pro-Bono and Public Service Opportunities is offering a service project open to all members of the AALS. Service Project participants will travel to the Capital Area Food Bank, the largest public, non-profit food distribution center in the DC metropolitan area which distributes several million pounds of food each year. Participants will participate in a  Face Hunger interactive role-playing workshop which will offer insight into hunger-related issues and their causes. The project will conclude with an hour of hands-on sorting and re-packing of food for distribution. Participants are asked to wear comfortable clothes and closed-toe shoes.
