International Secured Credit: Race to the ...?

A number of international efforts are underway to export the United States model of secured credit to other countries, particularly in the developing world, and to standardize the law of secured credit to facilitate international secured transactions. The panelists will describe the principal international efforts to reform secured credit law, and the various approaches for doing so. They will also discuss the desirability of exporting the U.S. model, and explore which international institutions are best suited to generate and implement an international law of secured credit.
