Protection and Regulation of Wetlands
(Ticket purchase in advance of Annual Meeting is required.)

The focus of this field trip to the Patuxent Wildlife Research Refuge will be the protection and regulation of wetlands. The Refuge, which is operated by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service in Laurel, Maryland, is the only National Wildlife Refuge established to support wildlife research. Planned events include a tour of the research facilities, a guided tour through the riverine wetlands, a visit to the viewing pod to survey Canada geese (and hopefully a bald eagle), and a presentation about recent wetlands litigation.
