The term "cultural property" is connected to a realm in which markets, museums, definitions of cultural, globalization and imperialism collide. Divergent norms and values prevent resolution of how the law should resolve particular disputes. This program will explore the cultural properties in the context of conflicts, including the war in Cambodia, the conquest of the Americas and war in Europe.
