| Several decades after the appearance of post-colonial states across the African continent, numerous national legal systems there have not yet succeeded in assimilating the treatment of various categories of disputes into coverage by superimposed mechanisms of hierarchical courts, using positivistic norms. |
| This panel will address an array of issues that are of ongoing interest concerning the role of customary law in several African cultures. |
